Flu and Other Viruses Surge - Health Authorities Issue Recommendations

The Ministry of Health is warning of a surge in flu and other viruses and reminding the public of essential protective measures. These include frequent handwashing with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitizer, covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, avoiding touching the eyes, nose, and mouth, and ensuring adequate ventilation of enclosed spaces. Additionally, it is recommended to clean and disinfect surfaces, limit contact with people exhibiting symptoms, and wear masks in hospitals and other closed facilities, especially for vulnerable groups. If symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, headache, muscle aches, fatigue, chills, vomiting, or diarrhea appear, self-isolation, mask use, testing, and immediate contact with a personal physician are advised. Vaccination against the flu, particularly for high-risk groups, remains the most effective preventative measure.
