Anti-Corruption Authority: Law on Lobbying is 'Revolutionary and Disruptive'

Published January 14, 2026, 08:30

The Independent Authority Against Corruption describes the new lobbying law as “revolutionary and disruptive,” as it establishes a clear framework of transparency and accountability in public decision-making. The law requires lobbyists to register in a public registry and declare all meetings with public officials. Officials, for their part, are not allowed to meet with individuals not registered in the registry during decision-making processes. Every meeting must be recorded, otherwise it is considered illegal. The Authority believes that the law has already begun to change attitudes and reduce opacity in public life, emphasizing the information and guidance of citizens and officials.
