No Cause for Concern Over Seasonal Infections Despite Case Increase, Officials Say

Cyprus health officials assure the public that the recent increase in seasonal infections, including Flu A, RSV, and COVID-19, is expected and does not cause alarm, while still urging caution. This year's flu vaccine coverage exceeds 55%, considered a satisfactory rate as the vaccine covers approximately 65% of circulating strains. The Ministry of Health has issued recommendations for maintaining personal hygiene measures, such as frequent handwashing, good ventilation, and surface cleaning. Additionally, it advises avoiding contact with vulnerable individuals and wearing masks for those experiencing symptoms. Those not vaccinated against the flu are encouraged to contact their doctor, while COVID-19 vaccinations are available at Ministry of Health vaccination centers.
