Paphos Pensioners Deliver Strong Message of Protest at EKYSY Provincial Committee Meeting

Pensioners in Paphos staged a dynamic protest, expressing their outrage at the government's lack of response to their long-standing and serious problems. At the 1st Extended Session of the Paphos Provincial Committee of EKYSY, officials demanded immediate and fair solutions to their requests, emphasizing the exhaustion of their patience. During the session, pressing issues were examined, a review of 2025 activities was conducted, and goals for 2026 were set. Key discussion topics included pension increases, the abolition of the 12% penalty, improvement of widow's pensions, repayment of the state's debt to the Social Insurance Fund, tackling inflation, and reducing the cost of medicines, as well as curbing the impunity of insurance companies and addressing social issues such as dementia. The session concluded with greetings from representatives of PEO and AKEL.
