Deputy Minister of Shipping to Visit Brussels

The Deputy Minister of Shipping, Marina Hadjimanoili, will pay a working visit to Brussels between January 25 and 28, 2026. The purpose of the visit is to present the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency for shipping matters to the Transport and Tourism Committee of the European Parliament. The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeades, and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, will also participate in the presentation. The Deputy Minister will brief the Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union on current issues, and will also have a working lunch with the Secretary-General of the Union of European Shipowners (ECSA), Sotiris Raptis. This visit is part of Cyprus's efforts to promote its interests in the shipping sector during its Presidency of the Council of the EU. After completing her visit to Brussels, the Deputy Minister will travel to Athens to attend the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Laskaridis Shipping Co. LTD. and the University of Nicosia.
