Question to the European Commission Regarding Video from Renew Europe MEP - ALMA Ally

MEP Sandro Gozi, from the Renew Europe political group and an ally of the ALMA party, has raised a question to the European Commission regarding a video containing serious allegations. According to the video, there is evidence of cash-for-favors exchanges, attempts to exempt a Russian businessman from EU sanctions, and a €75,000 “donation”. Gozi states that the focus of the revelations is the Russian businessman Andrei Kosogov, who is alleged to have been the subject of attempts to be excluded from the EU sanctions regime imposed after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He also mentions a “donation” from a pharmaceutical company linked to Russian oligarchs Mikhail Fridman and Petr Aven, who are also subject to sanctions. Following ALMA’s stance, Gozi made a formal intervention to the Commission requesting clarification and investigation of the case. The Commission is asked to examine whether European rules on sanctions, transparency, and funding have been violated. ALMA has joined the European Democratic Party and RENEW EUROPE.
