Η Κυβέρνηση της Ταϊλάνδης ανακοίνωσε ότι έκλεισε συμφωνία με το Ιράν ώστε να επιτρέπεται η διέλευση των δεξαμενόπλοιων της που μεταφέρουν πετρέλαιο από τα στρατηγικής σημασίας Στενά του Ορμούζ, που έχουν ουσιαστικά κλείσει από το ξέσπασμα του πολέμου στη Μέση Ανατολή πριν από έναν μήνα.
«Έχει πλέον συναφθεί συμφωνία ώστε να επιτρέπεται σε ταϊλανδικά πετρελαιοφόρα να διέρχονται με κάθε ασφάλεια από τα στενά του Ορμούζ, συμβάλλοντας έτσι να αμβλυνθούν οι ανησυχίες για τη μεταφορά καυσίμων προς την Ταϊλάνδη», διαβεβαίωσε ο πρωθυπουργός του βασιλείου Ανούτιν Τσαρνβίρακουλ κατά τη διάρκεια συνέντευξης Τύπου.
