Police to Protest Outside Parliament Over New Work Schedule and Rest Day Cuts

Police officers in Cyprus are planning a symbolic protest outside the Parliament on Wednesday, January 21st, at 9:00 AM, to protest the recent decision by the Chief of Police, Themistos Arnautis, regarding the new work schedule and the cut of rest days for over 1,000 police members. The protest is organized by the ISOTITA trade union and calls on off-duty police members to participate wearing civilian clothes. Simultaneously, prison wardens are expressing their solidarity with the police, denouncing similar violations of labor rights. The Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs will examine the issue on the same day, at 10:20 AM.
