A Yellow Warning is in effect for storms, hail and strong winds. The warning is valid from 10 pm on Tuesday (December 30th) to 10 pm on Wednesday (December 31st). The phenomena are expected to affect the island, with emphasis on the coastal and mountainous areas. Winds will be southwesterly to westerly, moderate to strong, and temporarily very strong to stormy on the coasts. Rainfall is expected to exceed 55 millimeters locally within 24 hours, while hail may fall during storms. Snow or sleet is expected on the highest peaks of Troodos. The temperature will drop to 8 degrees Celsius inland, in the south and east coastal areas, around 13 degrees Celsius on the west and north coasts, and to 2 degrees Celsius in the mountains, where frost is expected to form locally. Tomorrow, the weather will be mostly cloudy with local showers, while on Friday and Saturday generally clear weather is expected. The temperature will drop on Friday and will be below the average climatic values, while a gradual rise is expected until Sunday.
