Police Raids Across Cyprus Lead to Multiple Arrests for Serious Offenses

The Cyprus Police conducted dynamic and targeted preventative operations across the island overnight, aiming to prevent serious criminal activity and ensure public order. During the operations, a total of seven people were arrested for offenses such as illegal possession of drugs, carrying a knife, and driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, 15 vehicles were impounded as part of investigations into traffic offenses. Extensive checks were carried out on premises to prevent and suppress illegal behavior. Over 1,050 checks were conducted on the road network, resulting in 170 traffic tickets. Of these, 39 were for driving under the influence of alcohol and 65 for speeding. These operations are part of a broader, ongoing and enhanced preventative plan by the Police, with increased presence, targeted checks and immediate action in all provinces.
