Five Start-ups Create Solutions with Social Impact

Five start-ups were distinguished in the first European Solve for Tomorrow competition by Samsung, with the Greek team “Supervision” from the 2nd High School of Charilaou, Thessaloniki, qualifying for the final. The team presented BrailleVoice, an innovative system that improves the shopping experience for people with visual impairments, using QR codes for audio information and navigation. The competition, which took place in Milan, aimed to inspire the new generation to develop solutions to social and global challenges through technology. The finalists received guidance from Samsung and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) experts as part of the “Together for Tomorrow, Enabling People” initiative. The winning teams presented solutions with social impact, such as a smart shoe for diabetics (Curastep), an eco-friendly power bank (Liova), educational material for women's hormonal balance (My Hormone), an artificial intelligence platform for equality in physical education (SkillFIT), and smart glasses for people with vision problems (VisionNex). The President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Europe, Simon Sung, expressed his satisfaction with the success of the competition and the importance of empowering the new generation through technology. The event is expected to continue in the coming years, promoting innovation and social responsibility.
