80% Drop in West Bank Attacks, Says IDF

Published January 19, 2026, 18:17

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a significant drop in terrorist attacks in the West Bank in 2025, an 80% decrease compared to 2023. Specifically, 57 attacks were recorded in 2025, compared to 847 in 2023 and 504 in 2024. The number of Israelis killed also decreased, from 35 in 2023 to 20 in 2025. The IDF attributes the reduction to control of areas with a high concentration of terrorists, such as Jenin and Tulkarem. However, the number of Palestinians killed remains high, with 240 deaths in 2025. Analysts estimate that Hamas is transferring its activity to the West Bank from Gaza and that the situation may worsen in 2026.
