Rubio: Iran Has Not Responded to Plan to End War

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Iran has sent "messages" indicating interest in a diplomatic solution to the Middle East conflict, but has not yet responded to the American plan to end the war. Rubio mentioned progress in discussions with US allies regarding preventing Iran from implementing a "toll system" in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, which he described as illegal, dangerous, and unacceptable. Additionally, the US is not ruling out the possibility of redirecting some arms deliveries to Ukraine to cover its own needs in the event of a conflict with Iran. Rubio criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, accusing him of lying about US demands for territorial concessions in exchange for security guarantees. According to Rubio, security guarantees will only be provided after the end of the war. Furthermore, Rubio expressed US concerns about the violence of Israeli settlers in the West Bank and called on the Israeli government to take action to address the problem. Finally, Rubio discussed the situation in Cuba with his G7 counterparts, emphasizing that the island's economy needs to change and that this will only happen with a change in the political system. He attributed the ongoing power outages to Cuba's outdated infrastructure.
