Trump's Airstrikes Match Biden's in One Year, NGO Data Shows

Data from the NGO ACLED reveals that Donald Trump, during his first year back in office, has authorized nearly as many airstrikes as Joe Biden did throughout his entire four-year presidency. Specifically, 672 air strikes have been carried out compared to 694 under the previous administration. ACLED points out that Trump has already surpassed Biden in unilateral strikes, without the involvement of allied forces. Most of the bombings have targeted Yemen and Somalia, with attacks also occurring in Nigeria, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and the Caribbean. These operations have cost the lives of over 1,000 people, including civilians. ACLED's Managing Director, Cleona Ralli, expresses concern about the questioning of international norms and a shift towards a policy based on the president's 'personal morality'.
