Police Operations Continue: Two Arrests and Hundreds of Checks Overnight

The Cyprus Police continue their targeted preventive operations in all provinces, with an increased presence in key urban areas. The aim is to prevent criminal activity, protect citizens, and maintain public order. During the operations, two individuals were arrested: a 30-year-old in Nicosia following an arrest warrant, and a driver found driving under the influence of alcohol. Over 570 vehicles and 710 individuals were checked, and 35 premises were inspected. One violation related to operating licenses was reported. Traffic checks resulted in 136 reports for various offenses, including 32 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, seven vehicles were impounded as part of traffic crime investigations. These operations are part of a broader, ongoing, and strengthened preventive plan by the Police, with increased presence, targeted checks, and immediate action. The Police aim to enhance citizens' sense of security through these actions, tackling crime and ensuring the smooth functioning of society. Continuous presence and checks are considered crucial for deterring criminal activity and promptly addressing violations.
