So far this year, the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) has identified 12 individuals from the official list of missing persons, while excavations in eight locations have uncovered the remains of 20 people. Leonidas Pantelidis, the Greek Cypriot representative on the CMP, emphasized the importance of information flow for completing the picture regarding burial sites. The identifications are at a steady level compared to previous years, although reduced, and further identifications are expected to be completed in 2026. This year's excavations took place in approximately 130 areas, a 20% increase compared to last year, with eight of them yielding findings. The CMP continues to request information from the public to assist in the investigation.
