Profile of 610 Talents Seeking Opportunities in Cyprus

The Ministry of Finance has informed the Parliament about the profile of 610 individuals expressing interest in working in Cyprus through the 'Minds in Cyprus' and 'Opportunities For Talent' platforms. The majority of applicants are Cypriot expatriates, with the largest number residing in the United Kingdom (291 people). The scheme offers tax incentives to attract talent, with tax exemptions potentially reaching 25% of earnings, capped at €25,000, for those who have been abroad for at least seven years. A total of 139 job openings from 51 companies across various sectors of the Cypriot economy have been posted on the platform. The operation of the platforms involves the submission of applications by professionals and companies, the matching of qualifications and positions by the Department of Labour, and the informing of interested parties about available opportunities. The sectors with the most vacancies are IT (52 positions), finance and banking (17 positions), engineering and technical specialties (15 positions), energy (8 positions), technology (6 positions), commercial transactions (5 positions), and telecommunications (4 positions). The 'Opportunities for Talent' mechanism operates as a complementary channel connecting Cypriot expatriates with quality job opportunities in Cyprus, within the broader 'Minds in Cyprus' initiative. The aim is to strengthen the Cypriot economy by attracting skilled labor.
