David Bowie's Childhood Home in South London to Open as Creative Workshop

David Bowie's childhood home in South London, in Bromley, is set to be restored and opened to the public as a creative space. The house, at 4 Plaistow Grove, will be recreated as it was between 1955 and 1968, when Bowie lived there as a child. The project is being undertaken by the Heritage of London Trust and will be partially funded by the Jones Day Foundation. The aim is to create a space for workshops and educational activities for young people, promoting confidence and communication skills in the arts. The restoration has received the approval and contribution of Bowie's widow, Iman, and his daughter, Lexi, as well as Geoffrey Marsh, who co-curated the 'David Bowie Is' exhibition. Marsh emphasized the importance of the house in Bowie's evolution as an artist. Alongside this, new documentaries about Bowie are being released, such as 'Bowie: The Final Act' and 'Bowie In Berlin', which explore different aspects of his life and career. Bowie's legacy continues to inspire and be honored in various ways.
