Digital Leap: How Small Businesses Become "Smart"

Small Cypriot businesses can achieve a digital leap and become more competitive by leveraging smart tools and strategies. Examples such as George's bakery in Limassol and Maria's hairdressing salon in Paphos, which use tablets with AI chatbots and appointment management systems respectively, demonstrate the potential that exists. Digitalization allows small businesses to collect and use data to make better decisions, automate repetitive tasks, and communicate more effectively with their customers. Artificial intelligence offers tools for prediction, automation, and personalization. According to Eurostat data, 51.38% of businesses in Cyprus use cloud computing services, but the percentage in small businesses is lower (49.3%) compared to large (84.67%) and medium-sized (66.78%) businesses. This suggests that small businesses need to accelerate their efforts to digitize. A "smart" small business collects data, automates tasks, communicates with customers through digital channels, and has a strong digital presence. Artificial intelligence is integrated into accounting systems, CRM, and marketing tools, offering significant advantages.
