Voices United for Dignity and Rights

The establishment of the “Social Alliance for the Citizen” by the Cyprus Federation of Patient Associations (OSAK), the Cyprus Confederation of Organizations of People with Disabilities (KYSOA), and the Cyprus Observatory on Third Age is a significant initiative to advocate for holistic and coordinated policies concerning patients, people with disabilities, and the elderly. The alliance aims to highlight the problems of access to healthcare services, rehabilitation, and social participation, as well as the lack of an organized long-term care system. It emphasizes the need for financial support through allowances, but also for a cohesive framework of health and social protection policies. The alliance seeks to function as a collective pressure institution towards the executive branch, while maintaining its independence and focusing its efforts on the real needs of citizens.
