72 Dangerous Products Identified in the EU Market

The Consumer Protection Service (CPS) announced that a total of 72 products posing risks to consumer health and safety have been identified in markets across EU member states and have been reported to the Safety Gate system. The CPS urges economic operators to immediately notify the relevant authorities if they possess or have distributed these products. Consumers are advised to stop using these products, return them to the store where they were purchased, and inform the appropriate authority if they are in their possession. A complete list of the 72 products is available at the provided link. For the purpose of inspecting the Cypriot market, the products have been distributed to various government agencies: the Consumer Protection Service (8 products), the Pharmaceutical Services Department (24 products), the Department of Environment (15 products), the Department of Labour Inspection (10 products), the Department of Road Transport (6 products), the Electromechanical Services Department (6 products), the Mining and Quarries Service (2 products), and the Health Services (1 product). The CPS also reminds consumers that they can directly search the Safety Gate website, which is available in English and Greek, to find all products reported to the system and obtain relevant information to avoid using them.
