Time: Over 30,000 Killed in Iran Protests

Two senior officials at the Iranian Ministry of Health told Time magazine that as many as 30,000 people may have been killed during the protests in Iran on January 8 and 9. This number is far higher than the official death toll of 3,117 announced by hardline regime officials. The officials reported that body bag reserves were depleted and trucks were used to transport the dead. A doctor who compiled a related report estimates that the actual numbers are even higher.
