Zelensky Arrives in Cyprus for Official Visit Ahead of Cypriot EU Presidency

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, arrived in Cyprus for an official visit as part of the country's assumption of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. His arrival at Larnaca Airport was captured in videos circulated on social media. During the visit, President Zelensky will meet with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Archbishop of Cyprus, Georgios. These meetings are expected to focus on issues of mutual interest and strengthening bilateral relations. Furthermore, Mr. Zelensky is expected to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU and hold bilateral meetings with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. These meetings will provide an opportunity for discussions at the European level. The visit of President Zelensky to Cyprus takes place during a critical period for Ukraine, as the war with Russia continues. Cyprus, as a member of the EU, plays an important role in supporting Ukraine and promoting peace and stability in the region.
