Nikos Tornaritis Elected Vice President of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly

Nikos Tornaritis, a Member of Parliament and head of the Cypriot delegation to the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), has been unanimously elected Vice President of the APA's Executive Council for 2026. The election took place during the Executive Council meeting ahead of the Plenary Session, where agendas and resolutions will be discussed and approved. The APA Secretary-General praised Mr. Tornaritis' long-standing and multifaceted contribution to the Assembly's work, highlighting his role in promoting dialogue, cooperation, and parliamentary diplomacy. His election is seen as recognition of Cyprus' consistent presence and contribution to the APA. In his response, Mr. Tornaritis thanked the members of the Assembly for their trust and expressed his emotion regarding his long-term involvement in the APA, which he described as a space for collaboration and mutual respect.
