Road Conditions in the Troodos Mountains: 4x4 or Chains Required

Due to snowfall and ice, several roads in the Troodos Mountains are open only to four-wheel drive (4x4) vehicles or those equipped with anti-slip chains. Specifically, the roads Platron – Troodos, Karvounas – Troodos, Prodromou – Troodos, and Pedoulas – Prodromou require these measures. Other roads, such as Prodromou – Lemithou and Kakopetrias – Pinewood – Pedoulas, are open but slippery. Additionally, landslides have been reported in various locations, including Kalopanayiotis – Moutoulla – Pedoulas, Kakopetrias – Karvounas, Pedoulas – Kykkos – Kampou, Kykkos – Tsakkistra, and Kampou – Orkontas – Kato Pyrgos. The rest of the road network, including urban areas and highways, is generally clear. Police urge drivers to exercise extreme caution and adhere to traffic regulations.
