Paphos Residents Lack Knowledge of Aphrodite Myth, Study Finds

A recent scientific study conducted by the University of Nicosia Paphos in collaboration with tourism stakeholders has revealed that residents of Paphos, and even tourism professionals, have limited knowledge of the Aphrodite myth. The research, based on questionnaires, confirmed concerns about the low recognition of the myth among both locals and foreign visitors. However, there is general agreement that the myth of Aphrodite can be a significant differentiating factor for Paphos in the tourism competition. The study suggests highlighting the local, national, and European dimensions of the myth, training tourism workers, upgrading existing infrastructure, and investing in technological tools to promote the myth.
