Housing Prices Rise in Cyprus and the EU in Q3 2025

According to Eurostat data, housing prices in the European Union increased in the third quarter of 2025, reaching 5.5% compared to the same quarter of 2024. Rents also rose by 3.1%. Compared to the second quarter of 2025, housing prices increased by 1.6% and rents by 0.9%. In Cyprus, the increase in housing prices was marginal, just 0.1% compared to the third quarter of 2024, while compared to the second quarter of 2025, a decrease of 0.3% was observed. However, over a decade, from the third quarter of 2015 to the third quarter of 2025, housing prices in Cyprus increased by 46.86%. Regarding the performance of various member states, Eurostat found that housing prices rose more than rents in 25 countries. Hungary recorded the largest increase in housing prices (+275%), followed by Portugal (+169%) and Lithuania (+162%). Only Finland saw a decrease in housing prices (-2%). As for rents, they increased in all 27 EU member states, with the largest increase recorded in Hungary (+107%), followed by Lithuania (+85%), Slovenia (+76%), Poland (+75%) and Ireland (+74%). These figures indicate a general upward trend in housing prices and rents across the European Union.
