Police continued targeted preventative operations throughout the night, with an increased presence in key urban areas, aiming to prevent serious crime, protect citizens, and maintain public order. A total of nine individuals were arrested for various offenses, including shooting, illegal entry, attempted theft, driving under the influence of alcohol, and illegal stay in Cyprus. One man was also arrested in connection with an investigated road collision. Simultaneously, checks were carried out on over 430 vehicles and 510 individuals, as well as 49 premises. These checks resulted in nine complaints regarding violations of operating licenses. Traffic checks revealed 204 complaints for various traffic offenses, including 14 for driving under the influence of alcohol and one positive drug test. Furthermore, 16 vehicles were impounded as part of the investigation into traffic offenses. Police emphasize that these operations are part of a broader, ongoing preventative plan aimed at enhancing the sense of security for citizens. The increased police presence and targeted checks continue in all provinces, with immediate operational action to address crime and ensure public order.
