Why Cyprus Didn't Attend Davos and Its Response to Trump on the Peace Council

Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombok explained the reasons for President Christodoulides' absence from the signing of the accession act to the Peace Council in Davos, citing practical reasons and other commitments. Despite the President's absence, Cyprus supports Trump's initiatives for the peace process in Gaza, within the framework of international law and the UN Charter. Mr. Kombos noted that the Republic of Cyprus was involved in the initial closed group that discussed the Peace Council and that efforts are underway in Brussels to formulate a common position and stance. Cyprus considers the peace effort important but emphasizes the need to analyze and discuss the details of the agreement.
