Ten Arrests on Epiphany Day: From Violence to Drunk Driving

The Cyprus Police continued its targeted preventative operations with an increased presence in urban areas, aiming to prevent criminal activity and protect citizens. During the night of Epiphany, 397 vehicle checks and 30 premises checks were conducted. A total of ten individuals were arrested for various offenses, including illegal residence in Cyprus, domestic violence, failure to appear in court, possession of burglary tools, and driving under the influence of alcohol, which resulted in a traffic accident with property damage. Additionally, 147 traffic violations were recorded, eight of which related to driving under the influence. 19 vehicles were impounded. These operations are part of a broader and ongoing police plan to enhance the sense of security for citizens.
