Two Dead and Disruptions as Storms Hit Greece

Severe weather that hit Greece has caused two deaths and significant problems. A 56-year-old woman was swept away by a stream in Ano Glyfada and a 53-year-old coast guard officer was swept away by a wave in Paralio Astros. The heavy storms caused problems mainly in the southern suburbs of Attica, with hundreds of calls for help to the Fire Service and power outages in many areas. The phenomena are expected to subside by noon on Thursday.
