Trump Backs Down: Withdraws Threat of Tariffs on Greenland-Related Dispute

Donald Trump announced from Davos that he is withdrawing the threat of imposing tariffs on eight European countries, which had been made in response to their opposition to his plans to purchase Greenland. The withdrawal of the tariffs comes after an agreement with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte for a future agreement regarding the Arctic. Trump expressed his confidence that the final agreement will be beneficial to both the United States and all NATO member states. The initial threat of tariffs was scheduled to take effect on February 1st.
