Auditor General Threatened to Withdraw Following Remarks on Transparency

During a discussion at the Control Committee, the Auditor General, Antoniadis, threatened to withdraw following remarks made by DISY MP Nikos Georgiou. Mr. Georgiou argued that Mr. Antoniadis, as both treasurer and accountant of the state, should ensure transparency in contributions and donations, pointing out that contributions over 5,000 euros should be made public. The Auditor General, reacting strongly, stated that he did not accept insinuations and preferred to leave the discussion. He ultimately remained in the room and the discussion continued.
