Extensive Meeting at the Attorney General's Office Regarding Controversial Video

A comprehensive meeting was held at the Attorney General's Office, involving the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General, the Chief of Police, the President of the Independent Authority for Complaints Against the Police, Andreas Paschalidis (appointed as an independent investigator), and the investigative team. The meeting concerned the controversial video raising questions about illegal funding from the Government and determined the next steps of the investigation. Attorney General George Savvides clarified that the investigation did not begin today but has been ongoing since the first moment, covering various directions in Cyprus and abroad. Mr. Paschalidis' mandate concerns the investigation of a possible "hybrid attack", namely the authenticity, origin, motives for production and publication of the video, as well as its content. The Legal Service closely monitors the case in coordination with the Police and other state services, without making daily announcements about the progress of the investigation.
