Karousos Raises Concerns Over Limassol Port Director Position Announcement

The President of the Committee for Missing Persons (CMP) of Famagusta, Yannis Karousos, has voiced strong objections regarding the recent announcement of a Director position at the Limassol Port, utilizing the job description of the Famagusta Port Director. Mr. Karousos describes this move as a serious institutional, administrative, and political error, as the position of Famagusta Port Director holds symbolic and national significance, intrinsically linked to the occupied city. He argues that creating two Director positions for Limassol Port with the same job description is illogical and unacceptable. Furthermore, he emphasizes that if the Cyprus Ports Authority intends to fill a 'Harbour Master' type position, it should create a new position with a new job description. Mr. Karousos requests immediate answers regarding the position's budgetary allocation and the city to which it refers, warning of a process freeze if no provision exists.
