Supermarkets to Operate Normally on Day of Former President's Funeral

Supermarkets in Cyprus will remain open on Saturday, January 17th, the day of the funeral of former President George Vassiliou. Andreas Hadjiadamou, Executive Secretary of the Pan-Cypriot Supermarkets Association, told CNA that despite the day being declared a public holiday by the Council of Ministers, the private sector, including supermarkets, will operate as usual. No changes are expected to the operating hours, and the regulations governing work on Saturdays and Sundays will apply. Employees will work according to the normal Saturday schedule.
