US: Only One Point Remains to Be Settled in Ukraine Negotiations

US envoy Steve Witkoff stated that significant progress has been made in talks to end the war in Ukraine, with only one point remaining to be settled. He made the remarks on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, hours before traveling to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, accompanied by Jared Kushner, son-in-law of Donald Trump. Moscow had requested the new meeting, while talks at the working group level will continue in Abu Dhabi. Witkoff emphasized that both sides are keen to resolve this final issue. Despite the progress, important issues remain unresolved, such as the fate of Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories and security guarantees for Kyiv. Negotiations between the US, Ukraine, and Russia have been ongoing for months, aiming for a sustainable peace agreement. Meanwhile, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte assured that the US is willing to provide Ukraine with all the necessary military equipment. The US side has already met with Putin in the past, presenting proposals for resolving the crisis. In Davos, Donald Trump is expected to speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while hope remains that the diplomatic effort will lead to an end to hostilities and the restoration of peace in the region.
