Limassol Ready to Welcome Thousands of Runners for the Marathon

Limassol is preparing to host the “Bank of Cyprus Limassol Marathon, The Capital Race” on Sunday, January 18th, with thousands of runners and visitors expected. The event is anticipated to be the city's largest sporting celebration, providing a platform for personal victories and athletic endeavor. Over 8,000 runners have already registered, highlighting the growing popularity of the marathon. Participants come from all over the world, including countries such as Alaska, Colombia, Japan, Australia, and Tanzania, as well as various European nations. Furthermore, the Cablenet Corporate 5km Race has attracted the interest of more than 100 companies, boosting the spirit of teamwork and corporate wellness. The organization aims to combine sport with social contribution and the promotion of Limassol. The charitable aspect of the marathon is significant, with the Cyprus Anticancer Association being the official charity organization of the event. Participants had the opportunity to contribute financially during registration, supporting the Association's work. The new organizing team has set a goal to upgrade the race and strengthen its position as an important institution.
