Government Spokesperson Addresses 'Videogate' and Cyprus' EU Presidency

Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis presented the government's position regarding Cyprus' upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU, the Cyprus issue, and EU-Turkey relations. He emphasized that the President's appearance at the European Parliament was very well received, with MEPs recognizing Cyprus' preparation for the Presidency. He stressed that Cyprus will act as an honest mediator in EU-Turkey relations, promoting mutual respect and the interests of both sides. He reiterated that the resolution of the Cyprus issue is a European problem and that the EU has the tools to contribute to its solution. He also emphasized that the government is ready to manage the challenges that will arise during the Presidency, in an international environment full of crises.
