Trial Continues for Real Estate Agent Accused of Land Grabbing

The trial of German real estate agent Eva Isabella Künzel, accused of land grabbing of Greek Cypriot properties in northern Cyprus, continues with new prosecution witnesses. The defense argues that the accused could not have known if the properties she promoted were Greek Cypriot owned, as advertisements did not distinguish between Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot properties. During the cross-examination of investigator Dimitra Stavrou, the defense accused the investigating authorities of political motives and lack of impartiality in the investigation. The witness rejected these claims, emphasizing that the investigation is being conducted objectively and that the offenses are criminal. The defense argued that the investigating authorities did not investigate the accused's report regarding the advertising of properties in printed magazines (Forbes, Belle Vue) and online, without distinguishing between the properties. The witness replied that no such action was taken, but that the magazine articles refer to the situation in Cyprus and the recognition of the pseudo-state only by Turkey. The trial will continue on Monday, January 19th and Friday, January 23rd with the examination of new witnesses from the prosecution.
