WHO Reports 9 Nurses Killed in Attacks in Southern Lebanon

The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed deep concern over attacks on healthcare facilities in southern Lebanon, announcing that nine nurses have been killed and seven injured in five separate attacks. These attacks have impacted medical teams in five different villages and have caused significant disruptions to healthcare services in the region. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that four hospitals and 51 primary healthcare centers have closed, while other facilities are operating with reduced capacity. This situation creates significant challenges in accessing medical care for the population of southern Lebanon, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the area.
