Paphos on Alert Due to Extreme Weather – Public Urged to Exercise Caution

The Paphos Provincial Self-Government Organization (PSGO) is on alert due to the extreme weather conditions affecting the region. Four PSGO teams have been put on standby to respond immediately to any problems that may arise, covering the Municipality of Paphos, the Municipality of Yeroskipos, as well as the Municipalities of Akamas and Polis Chrysochous. So far, no serious incidents have been reported, but the situation is being monitored continuously in cooperation with the Municipalities. The President of the PSGO Paphos, Charalambos Pittokopitis, emphasized the teams' readiness to respond to extreme weather or flood events. No landslides or other serious phenomena have been reported in the province of Paphos so far. Mr. Pittokopitis appealed to the public to exercise increased caution, limit their movements to the absolutely necessary, and drive at low speeds, following the instructions of the Traffic Police. Overall vigilance is considered essential to avoid unpleasant incidents. The alert of the PSGO Paphos is part of the preventive measures taken to protect citizens from the effects of extreme weather events.
