Paphos Water Board on Alert Due to Reduced Water Production, No Water Cuts

The Paphos Water Board (EOA) is on alert due to reduced water production from desalination plants and the Asprokremmos refinery, caused by severe weather conditions. The decrease in production is attributed to increased sediment concentration in the desalination plants due to rough seas and the transfer of deteriorated materials to the refinery from rainfall in the Xeros River. Despite the difficulties, the EOA assures that there will be no water cuts, as wells in the Xeros River have been reactivated to cover the losses. The sea conditions have improved, and the desalination plants are expected to return to normal production levels. The EOA appeals to consumers to limit water usage and avoid waste, as water remains a valuable resource.
