Taxi Drivers to Stage 24-Hour Strike in Cyprus

Taxi drivers in Cyprus have announced a 24-hour strike starting tomorrow, Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 6 a.m. and ending on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 6 a.m. The Pan-Cypriot Confederation of Urban Taxi Drivers (POAT) is escalating its protest measures following a four-hour work stoppage on January 13, 2026, due to a lack of response from relevant authorities. If there is no response this time, POAT warns of an indefinite strike from January 27, 2026. Taxi drivers will gather at Larnaca and Paphos airports, as well as in Limassol (Potamos Germasogeias parking area).
