Equality Union Files Appeal Over Police Shift Changes

The Equality Union has filed an appeal to the Administrative Court regarding the change in police working hours and the reduction of daily allowances, describing it as a “unilateral arbitrary decision” by the Chief of Police. Simultaneously, it announced a protest rally outside the Parliament on January 21st, before the discussion of the issue in the Legal Committee. The Union will also meet with parliamentary parties to provide information on the situation. PASYDY and the Police Association of Cyprus (SAK) expressed strong dissatisfaction with the statements of the Chief of Police, emphasizing the disregard for labor institutions. They desire dialogue, but warn that they will take retaliatory measures if there are no positive results.
