President Christodoulides returned from the United States with a series of significant partnerships in technology, innovation, and education. The contacts made in New York and San Francisco went beyond mere statements of intent, leading to concrete agreements and policies. The most important is the strategic partnership with NVIDIA, which will bring an upgraded national High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure to Cyprus through a supercomputer. This will fill a critical gap in the country's computing capabilities and boost innovation, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. NVIDIA will also provide expertise and training to researchers and students, as well as support for applying its technologies to areas such as clean energy, climate science, and biomedicine. The HPC infrastructure is expected to be operational in June 2026. Furthermore, Plug and Play, a leading international innovation organization, has decided to establish an Innovation Center in Cyprus, as a result of the contacts made in the US. The center will connect Cyprus with an extensive network of startups, multinational corporations, and investors.
