Consumer Association Report: e-Basket Fails to Meet Expectations

The Consumer Association has published a new observatory report on the e-basket, revealing that in December there was an increase in the number of products offered by supermarkets, but none have the full range of 478 products. Furthermore, two supermarkets with nationwide coverage have a very low number of products in the e-basket. Specifically, Lidl had around 137 products and POP LIFE around 66-127. POP LIFE, in fact, had no products in the e-basket for most of December. The Association concludes that the e-basket, after six months of operation, has failed to achieve its goal of providing consumers with a useful tool for price comparison and cost reduction.
