EU and US Prepare $800 Billion Reconstruction Plan for Ukraine

The European Union and the United States are jointly developing a reconstruction plan for Ukraine, potentially reaching $800 billion. The plan, dubbed the “prosperity plan,” aims to transition Ukraine from emergency aid to an economic growth model, positioning it as an investment destination after the war. The 18-page document outlines a ten-year plan linked to Ukraine’s rapid path to EU membership. Over the next decade, approximately $500 billion from public and private sources is envisioned, with the European Commission planning an additional €100 billion through the next seven-year budget. The US intends to mobilize funds through a dedicated US-Ukraine Investment Fund, while BlackRock will provide advisory support. However, the plan’s implementation hinges on achieving a ceasefire with Russia, as the ongoing conflict hinders investment attraction.
