President of Cyprus Will Not Attend Peace Council Signing Due to Prior Commitments

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos announced that the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, will not attend the signing of the accession act to the Council for Peace in Davos due to other commitments. However, the Republic of Cyprus supports the initiatives of US President Donald Trump for the peace process in Gaza and any effort to resolve disputes within the framework of international law. The Foreign Minister noted that there are issues concerning the functioning of the Council and that time is needed to analyze and discuss an international agreement of this kind. Cyprus was part of the closed group invited by President Trump and expresses warm thanks for the invitation.
