24-Year-Old Syrian Man Detained in Cyprus Over Drug Possession – Police Suspect Drug Ring

A 24-year-old Syrian man is in eight-day custody in Paphos, following a court decision, regarding the possession of a significant amount of drugs. His arrest came after a vehicle check where small amounts of cannabis, cocaine, and methamphetamine were found. A subsequent search of his apartment by the YKAN revealed hidden 804 captagon pills, 874 grams of methamphetamine, 11 ecstasy pills, 193 grams of cocaine, 2 grams of amphetamine, 144 grams of cannabis, 48 grams of cannabis resin, and 3,515 euros. Furthermore, the suspect was driving without a license and tested positive for drugs. Police believe the 24-year-old is a member of a larger drug trafficking ring and investigations are ongoing.
